Ellen R. Stewart
Family Law Attorney
Ellen R. Stewart joined The Collaborative Law Group in 2012. She practices in child support, family law, custody and visitation, divorce, criminal law, protective orders, wills, estate planning, probate and estate administration, and landlord/tenant. Ellen is an advocate of alternate dispute resolution, particularly with family law, and she enjoys helping clients work toward an amicable settlement when possible. Ellen Stewart has been selected to the Maryland Rising Stars lists 2014-2017.
Ellen is a native of the state of Ohio. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Akron where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Ellen minored in pre-law and received a certificate in Political Conflict. After graduating college, Ellen moved to Maryland and went on to receive a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law where she graduated with Cum Laude honors.
While in law school, Ellen was a member of the Women’s Bar Association. She was also the Production Editor on the Intellectual Property Law Journal. Ellen’s favorite law school experience was her semester working with the Innocence Project clinic. Ellen interned with The Honorable John O. Hennegan in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County and the United States Sentencing Commission.
Ellen is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland. She is a member of the Howard County Bar Association, Howard County Collaborative Professionals, Maryland Association for Justice, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Ellen completed a three-day training in Collaborative Law and is a Notary Public.
When she is not practicing law, Ellen enjoys running full and half marathons. Ellen also enjoys jumping into the Chesapeake Bay for the Polar Bear Plunge every January and participates in the MS Walk every Spring.
